Using a qualitative approach through library research, the study examines the historical and intellectual context of the Abbasid Caliphate, particularly the role of Bayt al-Hikmah as a center of scientific knowledge. Through his monumental work, Al-Kitab al-Mukhtasar fi Hisab al-Jabr wal-Muqabala, Al-Khwarizmi not only laid the systematic foundations of algebra but also demonstrated that scientific advancement is inseparable from religious inspiration especially Qur’anic verses on numbers, justice (mizan), and rationality. The study affirms that the integration of revelation and reason forms a foundational principle in the development of Islamic science. In addition to highlighting Al-Khwarizmi’s influence on modern mathematics and technologies such as algorithms and computation, the research underscores the importance of preserving the Qur’anic scientific spirit in contemporary Islamic science education.
2025-11-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 International Islamic Studies Journal (ISSJ)https://journalkhd.com/ojs/index.php/issj/article/view/539Integration of NU Community Character into Akidah Akhlak Learning (Case Study at MTs Syirkah Salafiyah Jenggawah Jember)2025-10-27T11:16:00+07:00Fauzan Adimafitriyah.hanifiyah1986@gmail.comKholifatur Rohmahfitriyah.hanifiyah1986@gmail.comFitriyatul Hanifiyahhanifiyahfitriyatul88@gmail.com
Moral degradation is a common phenomenon among adolescents. Various approaches have been implemented in the education sector to address this issue, but low moral quality is still frequently found both in real life and on social media. This research aims to analyze the application of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) community character values in the aspect of tasamuh (tolerance) in Akidah Akhlak learning at MTs Syirkah Salafiyah Jenggawah Jember, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors for its implementation. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with data collection carried out thru observation, interviews, and document analysis. The research results indicate that the implementation of NU's community character values is carried out thru three main methods: understanding, habituation, and example. Teachers play an important role in providing understanding about tolerance, instilling tolerant behavior in school life, and serving as role models for students. The main supporting factors come from the pesantren environment and the shared understanding of Aswaja among teachers, students, and parents, while the hindering factors include the negative influence of social media and the lack of parental attention to character development. Overall, the implementation of NU social character can improve the morals, discipline, and tolerance of students at MTs Syirkah Salafiyah Jenggawah Jember.
2025-11-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 International Islamic Studies Journal (ISSJ)https://journalkhd.com/ojs/index.php/issj/article/view/544Qualifications and Ideal Competencies of Teachers in the Islamic Perspective2025-10-30T06:16:51+07:00Mochamad Imam Sugiantoimamsugianto020@gmail.comSiti Aisyahimamsugianto020@gmail.comRika Maryatin Hasanahimamsugianto020@gmail.com
Teachers hold a vital and esteemed position within the Islamic education system. This paper explores the role and urgency of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam, PAI) in addressing moral decadence and fostering ethical behavior in the millennial generation. By tracing the historical development of Islamic education in Indonesia, from the arrival of Islam to the modern educational system, this study emphasizes the strategic position of PAI in shaping noble character (akhlaq al-karimah). Strategies for revitalizing PAI include modeling exemplary behavior, strengthening religious education, early habit formation, integrated cross-disciplinary approaches, involving all teachers, support from family and society, utilizing modern technology, and nurturing moral conscience through spirituality. The findings indicate that PAI, when implemented holistically and collaboratively, can instill moral awareness, spiritual strength, and social responsibility in students, equipping them to face the challenges of modern life while maintaining ethical integrity.
2025-11-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 International Islamic Studies Journal (ISSJ)https://journalkhd.com/ojs/index.php/issj/article/view/546A Thematic Study of Management Verses and Their Relevance to Islamic Education2025-10-31T08:27:45+07:00Mudzakirdosen02180@unpam.ac.idFathudin Alidosen02180@unpam.ac.id
Management plays an important role in how Islamic education is carried out.
