Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health problem requiring stronger community-based case finding. The implementation of Active Case Finding (ACF) in the working area of Bantaran Primary Health Center faces diagnostic cascade losses, dependence on vendor-operated mobile X-ray services, and suboptimal involvement of community health cadres. This community service program aimed to describe the implementation of the Agronursing Movement for TB Detection and Action (GARDA TB) in optimizing the role of cadres in agronursing-based TB screening. The program applied a participatory approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 20 health cadres from 10 villages. The intervention included cadre training, educational videos, WhatsApp-based audio microlearning, a Google Sheets–Looker Studio monitoring dashboard, and a QR code-based digital pocketbook. Evaluation results showed an increase in the mean knowledge score from 85.00 to 98.25, representing a 15.59% improvement. All cadres demonstrated increased scores and signed a sustainability commitment. GARDA TB improved cadres’ knowledge capacity and readiness to support community-based TB case finding. Program sustainability requires regular supervision, integration into routine primary healthcare services, and multisectoral financing support.
